SCHMID Group Concludes Contract

SCHMID Group, the world's technological leader in supplying system and process solutions for printed circuit board technology as well as for photovoltaic, has acquired RTS Engineering Ltd. This company, a distributer of technological equipment for the electronic industry, will act as SCHMID's new representative for the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS countries) and came into effect as of 1st October 2011.

RTS Engineering Ltd, established in 1990, is located in Moscow and is very active in the CIS region. It has since then acquired an excellent market position and built up an impressive portfolio in the electronic industry. The company is well known for its long term activity in this market and achieves major market coverage with its 65 employees. Today, RTS is responsible in the area of delivery and service of technological equipment for printed circuit board technology, as well as for the assembling of electronic units. Furthermore, RTS assumes responsibility of technical support, start-up, after sales service and delivery of tools, materials and spare parts of the above mentioned machines. By concluding the representation contract with SCHMID, RTS is now also involved in the photovoltaic wafer industry.

SCHMID Group has roughly 2,800 employees worldwide, produces at sites in Germany, Switzerland, Taiwan, Japan, China, and the US and is also represented globally by 16 different service offices. With a focus on customer orientated process solutions, economic concepts and constant development of new process technologies in our own research centers the tradition of being a system supplier is being continued well into the fifth generation. Alongside producing single equipment the SCHMID portfolio also includes turnkey manufacturing lines which guarantee performance parameters, such as production capacity and efficiency in the area of wafers, cells and modules. In doing so SCHMID Group covers the entire solar value chain with a high in-house production rate.
